Sabie Chamber of Commerce and Tourism held a day/night golf event on June 5th at the Sabie Country Club. The goal of the event was to raise funds for the betterment of Sabie.
Joy Comley and Nicole Brummer have organised this annual event for eight years very successfully. The day event is a serious tournament for the serious golfers with eight-teen holes,” said Nicole Brummer, Day & Night Golf Day organiser. “The night event is the fun aspect of the golf day where the course is lit by hundreds of candles.”
During the SCCT golf day, one could participate in other fun-filled activities as well. Congratulations to Hilton Kuisis on winning the booze wheelbarrow raffle where the prize was a wheelbarrow filled with alcoholic beverages. A lucky draw competition was also held and an exciting auction. All golf players got a sponsored goody bag and dinner that was included with registration. Players also had the opportunity to join in on the magical night golf fun. The golf course was filled with candles and lights and now and again a glow in the dark ball could be seen travelling through the air.
The prize-giving was held after the night of golf. The organizers of the SCCT golf day would like to thank all the sponsors. “Without the sponsors, this day wouldn’t be possible,” Nicole said.
