2020 – What a year!

After a 3 week rest, I feel so relaxed and inspired for work! However, the whole world is still in a turmoil, just look around you… How are we going to survive all this everyday negative news of mayhem, death, corruption, Covid, lack of money etc.?

When you are faced with adversities, what do you do? Do you talk negatively with the rest of the people and want to give up? What should we do? We should praise God, irrespective of our circumstances. We must worship Him amidst our problems/hurts/worries etc.

The Israelites were caught between the ensuing Egyptians and the Red Sea, but God split the sea. Do you believe that God will and can do it for you? Will you focus on the problem or God?

If we take our focus off ourselves and our circumstances and start praising Him, having an attitude of gratitude, WE WILL be changed. The issues will not magically disappear, but your mind-set will be one of gratefulness for what we have, not what is wrong. Believing that He will set your path straight is not a feeling, it is a KNOWING.  How can you trust God if you don’t know Him, mind, body and soul if you don’t spend time with Him? How will speaking death and mayhem over our lives with our tongues change the situation?

2nd Chronicles v 20-22: 20 Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.” 21 After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise Him for the splendour of His holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying:

“Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.” 22 As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.

What do we believe, what do we speak into the spiritual dimension? Matthew 16:19  “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Start praising God even when you are devastated, have nothing left, are facing death and pain because He knows your heart and your future. But …how do we do it?

Like eating an elephant, you start… bite by bite! You speak life into your situations, for example praying to say: “Lord in front of me is this hurt, un-forgiveness, my lack of… money/love/health etc. BUT Lord I trust you, I praise you for all this because you promised that not ONE hair will fall off my head without you knowing about it.  Why can we not succeed in it? Because our focus is wrong, it is on ourselves and our problems. Instead of speaking negatively, let us praise Him! Pick your head up, start praising Him and start going! What is your method of praising? Worship music is a sure winner! If you want to change in your life, then be the change!

We were created for God firstly, but also as the Body of Christ. We are all linked together. Are you a blessing or a burden? Yes, we are allowed to talk about our problems and hurts, but I ask myself the question: Am I an “angel” in other people’s lives, or am I one of those that got stuck in my frame of mind and cannot get going to trust Him? For Him to start in our lives, we have to let go!

Has your test become your testimony, or are you still writing chapters on it? God created us for a specific reason, and as long as we are stuck on our own lives, not prepared to let go and grow, how can we be a blessing to others? We must move on and let go! Life is hard, we all go through troubles and hurts, worries and issues.

Life is tough on everybody, we do not walk in each other’s shoes, do not go through the same, but we all have a choice.

You can be bitter or better.

We need to choose to be a blessing for others. We see the here and now, but God sees our future, He knows, we need to get on with it. Is it easy? NO! But it is possible, your faith is your responsibility. Speak positive, praise Him, get started and be that shining light for the world to see. We have hope because we have Jesus Christ!
