Care Buddies is a volunteer program whose volunteers care for senior citizens and frail persons in homes for the aged and frail care centres in Nelspruit/Mbombela, White River, Barberton and Hoedspruit.
Our volunteers are young and old, male or female – anyone who has a heart for older people and who would like to make a difference in their lives. Every volunteer contributes in an area that suits their unique situation and where they can make the most difference.
Care Buddy volunteers work together as a group and individually to provide love and companionship to our senior citizens through regular visits, arranging events such as Spring Day tea parties, Christmas lunches and outings and assisting our old age homes and frail care centres to raise funds for essential needs of residents. Volunteer entertainers bring light and laughter into many lives through a regular entertainment programme, while our volunteer crafters make beautiful things that can be used to raise funds for our various projects.
Our vision is to ensure that there is a Care Buddy available for every senior citizen in every old age home, frail care centre and retirement village throughout the country, bringing love and care to each and every one of them.
The Care Buddies wants to expand into the Sabie area and requires volunteers to work with us in the Sabie area.
