Believe in your Dreams.

If you don’t, nobody else will.  Proverbs 16:3 says: “Commit to the Lord, whatever you do.”  When I look back on the years and how I started ‘Woman of Faith’ magazine, I know that I could never have done this without the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

In 2005, I was at the lowest of my life; I had no hope, nothing to stand on.  I moved from Johannesburg to Durban with my two sons, just nine and five years old, with no job, back to my parents. That feeling when you feel unloved, not knowing what lies ahead in your tomorrow?  I experienced that.  It was during this time one day whilst leafing through a popular women’s magazine, I heard a whisper in my heart: “Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a Christian Women’s magazine in South Africa?”  I remember just sharing that thought with my mum even though I was at the lowest in my life, my mother replied: “If you really desire it, ask the Lord.”

But I did not, it was just a thought, soon forgotten; but God didn’t.  In 2014 I had that thought inside me again and soon it became a pressing urgency. I knew that the Holy Spirit was speaking. Was my dream going to be realized? The thing is, not everyone will believe in your dream, you got to believe in it yourself. You have to have the confidence to know that no matter what, God is going to come through. To date, amidst the challenges the Lord has not failed me.

I faced enormous opposition and dream killers. People asked me questions such as: “What do you know or understand about magazine publication?” But GOD was Faithful.   My message to you that is struggling through something similar, stay the course. If God gave you a mandate, He will provide.

Woman of Faith publications was launched on August 2nd, 2015, as a magazine for the local church and Durban suburbs. Today, we are a national Christian women’s publication. Our major retail outlets are: CUM Books, Spar Stores, CNA Stores and Exclusive Books.  We also retail at local Quick shops, local book rooms, and our magazines are also found at libraries in Cape Town and Kwa-Zulu Natal.  We also featured our first international Woman of God on our latest issue, Joni Lamb, together with her husband. They are the founders of Daystar Television Network in the USA. God takes ordinary and He turns it into extraordinary. Nothing is impossible with God, you just have to make yourself available to Him. God Bless.
