The Penryn College 2019 Matric class achieved excellent results in their IEB examinations.
“The IEB Matric examinations are a significant external benchmark, both nationally and internationally recognised. The Class of 2019’s achievements is the collective indicator of academic excellence, the joining of personal goals and the high standards of the IEB. We are proud of our top achievers, who shine among the best in the country and whose results are documented individually at this time. We are just as proud of every single one of our scholars who has risen to the occasion and has achieved their own goals and will begin the next phase of their preparation for life,” Albert Pienaar, Head of Penryn College said.
The Class of 2019 achieved the following results: 86 candidates achieved a 100% pass rate and 94.2% achieved a Bachelor’s degree entry rate.
One such student, Tamryn Hough, a resident of Graskop has achieved 6 distinctions in the matric exams 2019 with 91% for Mathematical Literacy.
Janka Van Zyl is the Dux scholar for 2019, achieving a total of 6 distinctions, including 92% for Afrikaans First Additional Language and 91% for Life Orientation. Angus Olivier also achieved 6 distinctions.
