Chicken Outfit Motorcycle Club will be hosting the 21st ET Rally, 31 May – 2 June 2019, at the Jock of the Bushveld Bungalows between Nelspruit and Barberton.
In 1996 Piet Posthumus moved from Durban to White River. Piet is a member of the Chicken Outfit Motorcycle Club that serves the biking community of South Africa since 1973. Piet started the ET Rally in 1998 in Pilgrims Rest.
“This year is the 21st ET Rally and the Chicken Outfit would like to thank the Biking Community for supporting us during all these years.ET stands for Eastern Transvaal and not for the well-known animation figure as the logo represents. The logo was borrowed from the well-loved movie ET,” Mossie Mostert, a member of the club said.
The Chicken Outfit Motorcycle Club is a family orientated group of motorcyclists with Christian beliefs. “The philosophy is GOD first, Family second, Work third, Bike fourth. The first ET Rally was held at Kranskloof , which was the old Veldskool site at Pilgrims Rest and in 2014 the Rally moved to the Pilgrims Rest Caravan Park, because of the demise of the Kranskloof site. In 2016 the Rally moved to The Shoe outside Origstad, also because of the demise of the Caravan Park,” Mossie said.
“In 2018 a new site was found at Jock of the Bushveld Bungalows between Nelspruit and Barberton. This year 2019 we will celebrate the twenty first year of the ET. Jock of the Bushveld Bungalows will host our 21 years of Glory,” Mossie concluded.
