The Loco Inn Pub & Grill (Graskop) held a charity event during the Easter weekend, in honour of the local kids from Emmanuel Children’s Home.
The manager, Thabang Moripe, said that the primary aim of the event was to source contributions-such as clothes, blankets, non-perishable food-to-be donated to the children’s home.
He added that it was a great privilege to spend time with the kids, as it gave assurance to the little ones that they deserve love and appreciation.
“The event was planned especially for the kids. All residents and various stakeholders were invited to attend. We really wanted the kids to enjoy Easter and have a fun day. We organised a jumping castle and a little pool for the children. We also prepared a delicious meal for the day. The kids had so much fun and it was very sad when they had to leave,” said Thabang.
The Assistant Manager, Marietjie, said that more activities are planned for the kids throughout the year.
“We thank the kids for coming and we really had a great time. We are planning to throw events for the kids during spring and Christmas. More residents must come and join us when we host these functions because they mean a lot to the children,” said Marietjie.
She furthermore said that residents are welcome to contribute items at the Loco Inn, which will be duly handed over to the Emmanuel Children’s Home. She, however, cautioned that cash will not be allowed as part of the contributions.
