On March 16th and 17th Sabie Country Club held their annual Golf Club Championships. As with all golf days and tournaments hosted by Sabie Country Club, everything went smoothly and was well organised. All the golfers that participated were ready for the Championships.
With young and old participating and competing, the Championships turned out to be a great success. In the A-Division with a best gross score of 148, Weber de Klerk earned the title of Club Champion. The runner up was MC van der Merwe with a gross score of 149. In the B-Division, Jan Kinghorn was the winner with the best gross score of 167. The runner up in the B-Division was Michael Cogill with a gross score of 170. In the C-Division the winner was Dog Loubser with the best I.P.S points.
In the ladies C-Division, the winner was Alinka Joubert with 71 I.P.S points and the runner up was Elsa Joubert with 51 I.P.S points. The longest drive went to Alinka Joubert for the ladies and Kevin Bezuidenhout and Weber de Klerk for the men. Nearest to the pin were Weber de Klerk and Elsa Joubert.
Well done to Ryan Cogill and Marcu van der Merwe, the two up and coming junior golfers that participated.
Prizes and trophies were sponsored by BUCO Sabie and prizes and dinner for Saturday evening were sponsored by Sabie Spar. Sabie Country Club wishes to thank all the sponsors, members and golfers for their support and participation that made the day very successful.
