Friday 19th October was BUCO Hoedspruit’s suppliers annual day in the form of a golf day in aid of Cansa. This year the theme was “Around the world in 19 holes.” with the slogan of travelling by land, air or sea. It was held at Sabi River Sun in Hazyview. The suppliers had to choose a country they would like to represent. Sabie Poles chose “France”, and went the full Monty!
A replica of the Eiffel tower was made out of laths by Hannes Steenkamp of Houtskuur Sabie. The staff of Sabie Poles were dressed in the attire of France, with the traditional striped shirts and berets. As decoration, they had the accordion (trekklavier), strings of pearls, and feathers, complete with the cigarette in the long slim holder.
The golfers were treated with sparkling wine, strawberries and cream, as well as freshly baked croissants dipped in chocolate, true French style. The day was once again a resounding success with lots of prizes and surprises to the golfers.
