The latest event was held at the Sabie country club on the 3rd of March with 30 plus golfers whose dues added to their funds.
The day was supported by Jock Shell Hole Moth and assisted by non-golfers from Jock-, there was a number of ex-south African conscription soldiers of the border wars playing plus a few local members and locals.
Thank you all very much for your participation. Prize giving was short and sweet due to unforeseen delays. Thanks to Lee-Anne and the staff of Sabie Country Club, the golf course was in excellent condition and the curry and rice were delicious, and as usual, the service great.
We do have a golf date set for the 14th of July at Pilgrims Rest Golf Club.
The Memorable Order of Tin Hats or the MOTH as it is more popularly known is an ex-serviceman’s organisation.
The three MOTH ideals
True Comradeship, Mutual Help, Sound Memory –
T.C. (True Comradeship) by practising front line friendship in civilian life;
M.H. (Mutual Help) by acknowledging the personal and collective obligation to help each other as in front line service;
S.M. (Sound Memory) by remembering the fallen as a living companionship and to serve their memory in practical actions
which rise above divisions of social status, race, or politics.
To protect and advance the interests of war veterans and their kin by carrying out benevolent activities of an ex-service character.
Persons interested in the moths are welcome to attend our meetings in Michael street Sabie every second Monday of the month at 6 pm, bring and braai.
