Ten children at the Pilgrim’s Rest Primary School received brand new school shoes on January 26, thanks to a donation from God’s Love Ministries.

“The Lord put the idea in my heart of donating school shoes to children in need,” said Pastor Lungile Mashile about the origin of the gift. The money was raised from the members of the church congregation.  The Life Skills educator at the school was tasked with identifying two children from each grade who were most in need, for example, orphans or those whose parents are not working.

The shoes and body lotion were handed over during the school assembly after a moving talk by Pastor Mashile, in which she reminded the children that whatever the circumstances, God is the father and friend that they can always turn to for help.

God’s Love Ministries was started in Pilgrim’s Rest, and after having moved to Sabie for a while, services are again being held every Sunday in the Pilgrim’s Rest Primary School Hall from 08.30 to 11:30.
