Mart and Janine Meyer opened a substance abuse treatment facility, called PRC Recovery Centre, in Sabie, Mpumalanga.
“Our team strives to offer a detailed and comprehensive map to the journey of recovery that is enlightening, inspiring and practical. The focus becomes not merely “not using,” but spiritual, emotional, intellectual growth and physical well-being,” Janine said.
“The effectiveness of a registered treatment centre cannot be overlooked. The Department of Social Development has gone the extra mile to ensure best practice guidelines are followed. For instance, the Department of Health did a thorough inspection to ensure our premises are suitable for residents. Counsellors and social workers must be qualified and registered with appropriate boards to ensure they have thorough skills to provide treatment.”
“With the Treatment Plans the types of clinical disciplines and assessment criteria are taken into consideration. A thorough nutritional program is taken into account to provide best possible nutrition after detox. There are limitations on the time allocated to residents for duties. This is restricting facilities to expose their clients to ‘cheap’ labour.” Janine continued.
“You can imagine the impact if any one of these norms and standards are neglected. We pride ourselves to include all these aspects in our standards and philosophy of our programme, building our reputation to become a leading treatment facility,” Mart said.
“The Recovery Team are highly trained partners who work with you so you can have the life you want in recovery. We prepare you for your new way of life and equip you with techniques to cope with life on life’s terms.”
