It is easy to be a Christian in the good times.  One of my favourite songs is God on the mountain.  The song is about being high up on the mountain (emotionally/spiritually/financially), but how do you react when you are down in the valley (hurting, heart-breaking times, desperate and destitute) A part of the lyrics are as follows:

God of the mountain

Life is easy when you’re up on the mountain

And you’ve got peace of mind like you’ve never known

But things change, when you’re down in the valley

Don’t lose faith, for you are never alone

We don’t know what the day off tomorrow holds.  When things go wrong, as they certainly do, then the only constant factor in our lives is God.  Nothing and no one is there for always.  There are seasons in our lives, a time for joy, a time for mourning, a time to live and a time to die.

God sees your life completed and finished, not where you are today.  He knows your future.  How do you see yourself?

Psalm 139:16 says, that ALL the days ordained for me were written in your book BEFORE one of them came to be. God saw the finished work in you BEFORE you were even born.

Take a stand, push those doubting and hurtful thoughts from your mind.  Once you understand and believe (with faith) what God says about you, then you will begin confessing what God says. You will begin to walk in your rights and privileges given to you through Jesus Christ.

What does your faith look like? Is it depended on how you feel or circumstances?  Are you in such a rush every day that you do not have time to pray or even acknowledge your creator? When we hit rock bottom, our instinct is to ask: “Why God?”  It is natural and I am so grateful that He is a loving Father that knows our hearts.  Despite our rejection, He still loves us and waits for us.

Those of you who are in a rut, those of you who are in despair…look up to the God who created you and formed you in His image. God says that He calls the things that are not as though they were (Rom. 4:17).

We are supposed to live in victory, but because we do not know His heart, we struggle with life and it hurts.  Whether you believe it or not, you are His.

My prayer for all the people that are hurting, rebellious, ashamed, afraid or destitute that they will choose to believe in God’s goodness. That they know that these trials and tribulations will not last forever.  Hold onto Him, it is the only option!
