Graskop girl, Bontle Ndlovu, is clearly on the verge of becoming a leading face in the world of beauty pageants. She is a grade six learner at Sabie Primary School.
The twelve-year-old is currently eyeing the 2017 Miss Teen title after she was selected as one of the finalists. Winning the Miss Teen SA title will certainly open the doors towards international exposure.
She won the Miss Graskop Teen 2017 held in April, followed by another prestigious title as Mpumalanga Show Pageant Ambassador on September 2.
GPS News met Bontle during her fundraising campaign outside SPAR Graskop building. She said that the proceeds go to a local orphanage, Emmanuel Children’s Home.
“I’m very proud to be selected for Miss Teen SA, but at the same time, I feel normal about it. Maybe it’s because of winning the two titles. I thank my mom and dad for always supporting me. I also thank everyone else who supported me and I hope they’ll vote for me so that I can win the title,” said Bontle.
Bontle’s mother, Barbara Ndlovu, said that Bontle’s pictures were sent for evaluation followed by an interview.
“I’m nervous for her sake, I don’t know what to expect. I told her to go for the experience and the fun of it. As a mother I don’t have to force her to become something she’s not, I just have to encourage and support her to follow her dreams. She needs votes to become Miss Teen SA 2017. I told her not to be afraid. If she falls, she must dust herself off, smile and move on,” said Barbara.
The Miss Teen SA Pageant will take place on October 14. To vote for Bontle, you can SMS P3 to 47087 at a cost of R2. Free and bundle data SMS do not apply.
