To celebrate the Official Relaunch of Sabie Spar on Friday, May 26, a competition, Stop the Clock, was also launched that guaranteed 30 Days of winning.
The Stop the Clock competition ended on May 18, and more than 70 people, either Sabie residents or Sabie visitors, won great prizes. All that people had to do to stand a chance of winning, was to shop at Spar, queue to pay for their groceries and listen for the Spar alarm clock. If they were the lucky ones at the till when the alarm went of, they could receive their purchases for free.
Not only were there super specials and the chance to get your groceries for free, but also a trolley competition to the value of R3500. Piet and Wilna Volsteedt, Sabie residents, won this competition. Sabie Tops Liquor Store was also included in this competition. If more than a certain amount was purchased, the shopper stood a chance of receiving the goods for free. As the Paradise Rally was held in Sabie over the start of the competition, visiting bikers that won their goods for free, was really pleased.
Raymond and Shirley Emmerick, owners of Sabie Spar, renovated and remodelled the local Spar to their own very exacting and high standards. ““The first thing we did when we moved into Sabie Spar, was to start cleaning everything. I did not want anything packed into fridges or shelves if it wasn’t cleaned first. It also took time to order the products that we needed.” Raymond Emmerick said. They made sure that shelves were restocked and that the whole store was visually pleasing before the relaunch of the Spar. “At the moment we are concentrating on the existing product lines. We will, in future, expand on the 13 000 products that is already in Spar. With the relaunch of Sabie Spar, and the Stop the Clock competition, we are giving back to the Sabie community. We appreciate their continued support of their local Spar.” Emmerick concluded.
