Book sale in aid of animal welfare

The SPCA in White River is having their annual Book sale on July 21 to August 2 at their premises in Tungsten Road in White River. A large variety of books will be available from as little as R2 per book to maximum R100 for a special book such as a coffee table book.

The book sale will last for two weeks.  There will be volunteers on duty everyday from 11:00 to 14:00 on weekdays and from 10:00 to 12:00 on Saturdays to assist book lovers. “Our annual book sale has become very popular,” said Estelle de Villiers, Treasurer, SPCA White River. “Even though we now live in such a technological age where books can be downloaded via the net or obtained from Kindle, people love having a book to hold and read.  It seems as though books are becoming more fashionable again.”

“We have regular clients who look forward to our book sale and even have a waiting list for specific books. There is a reader on our list who collects Louis L ‘Amour books and another who collects Danielle Stevens novels.”

The books are sold individually and sometimes they are made up in bundles.  Be sure not to miss out on this opportunity to buy books at a cheap price and at the same time support the good work done by the White River SPCA in the various communities they serve.
