Uplands announces Scholarship Awards

Uplands College in White River has announced their annual scholarship awards. These scholarships are given to pupils with exceptional talent and who will start their grade eight during 2018 at Uplands.

A group of 140 candidates participated in the scholarship examinations. These students were drawn from 38 primary schools in Lowveld, Johannesburg, Swaziland, Mozambique and Botswana.

Uplands made five external awards to the following recipients;
•All-Rounder Open Scholarship Award: Ayanda Ntimane from Laerskool Barberton,
•Academic Open Scholarship Awards: Chantal Bourdin from Cliffview Primary in Johannesburg and Zayaan Omar from Uplands Preparatory,
•Open Sports Scholarships: Michaela Bradford from Thornhill Primary School in Gaborone, Botswana and Sellin de Beer from Uplands Preparatory.

The top three academic achievers from Uplands Preparatory will receive Closed Scholarship awards at the end of the year. Their final mark from grade seven will be combined with their Scholarship test results to determine the winners of the scholarships.
