The Local Choice Pharmacy (TLC) in Hazyview held a colouring in competition for grade one to three pupils of Numbi Primary School, Hazyview during April. On Monday, May 22, the winners were announced at the school. Ludwich Schuld (owner, The Local Choice Pharmacy, Hazyview) handed out the prizes and certificates to the lucky winners.
Prizes included certificate, sweets and a R100, R50 and R30 voucher respectively for the winners and second and third place in each grade. “The competition was an outreach initiative in the community by our pharmacy,” said Schuld. “We also wanted to create awareness among children of health facilities which are available at our pharmacy for them and their parents. These include flu injections, free hearing tests, dieticians, etc.”
“We also invited the pupils and their parents to visit our pharmacy. We gave the learners a special password; Tender Loving Care (TLC), to use when they come to our pharmacy. In return for giving their password the pupils would receive a sweet. We will look at doing future projects with the community,” concluded Schuld.
